Job Shadow Report

Where did I go for my job shadowing? ARA, Applied Research Associates is a defense contractor employed by the Department of Defense and develops software for our government. When we arrived i needed to get a badge to show i was allowed to do the job shadow. The company has classified and top secret info so I am not allowed in certain areas, they have to watch out for spies and other governments trying to get their technology! The building was a simple office and each worker had their own room. I went to meet different people within the company, the first was the graphics designer. He is working on a computer modeling system meant to help design structures for the Department of Defense.  The designer showed me different models that they use for the program. Another thing is video editing software, it is used to put together videos and change them around. He showed me a video he put together showing US soldiers training underground as well as some of their tech used in the field. The next person i met was their security administrator and trainer, she is in charge of who gets access to the secure room and insures everyone is safe. She also has a system where if you get a suspicious email you can send it to her and she will find out what it contains and who sent it. Each employee I meet had a interesting story or job and I enjoyed my time there!
